RosalieW is on a distinguished road
Hello and thank you!

Hi everyone!

I adopted a kitten a couple of months ago, he had a lot of tummy problems when we first got him (I suspect from a bad diet in his previous home) and I found you lovely people while looking on the internet for advice. Well, not only did I learn all about the best diet for cats but after becoming addicted to reading the forums I found out so many other great tips! (Like the best cat litters - love OKO plus now!) Now, 2 months later my kitty is on a diet of Animonda and Bozita, has all the toys you could imagine from Zooplus, a brilliant cat tree and is happy as can be with a super soft and shiny coat! (Next logical step is to get him a friend to share all these lovely things with!! Any "other half" persuasion tips?! ) And it's all thanks to you lot!

Anyhow! Now the new addition to the family is all settled I thought it's about time we introduce ourselves and repay you for all the amazing tips in the form of pictures!

Introducing the lovely Noodle!

I do have one question - Noodle is just over 5 months old and is starting to get quite bitey. He is booked in to be neutered in two weeks (mummy is worried sick! but thats another thread!), just wondering if the biting is because he's coming up to 'that age' and maybe the neutering will calm him down?

Thanks again everyone

Molly still has her biting moments, and she's just over 14 months old, I think it's just a case of teaching them that it hurt's!

Re: Hello and thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forum.Noodle is a handsome young man.His "biting" is most likely play biting and he doesnt realise it hurts.Usually something that is grown out of,although as Jenny has said some still push their luck,my raggie Meeko who will be 2 years old in Feb.still likes, occasionally, to remind me that he has teeth.Neutering should help to calm him down but not always a guarantee,as for worrying,we are all here for support,as we have most likely been there and know the feeling well.

Re: Hello and thank you!

Noodle is gorgeous.

Lilly bites but not hard and if you say no to her she will start to lick you.

As to persuasion mine was " you know i love you"

He said "yes" and i said "well ive fallen in love again" - so we had lilly.

But as Sarelis says "kittens are hard to resist" and shes right

Re: Hello and thank you!

He is gorgeous

All nmy cats went through a bitey stage but did manage to grow out of it, I'm just left with a few small scars (joking)!! If they started biting I just used to end the play/stroking, etc & walk away.

As for persuading OH's .... I juist found lots of wine helped..... then tell them the next day they agreed to another cat/dog .... I'm wondering if I can get away with it again

Re: Hello and thank you!

Do you know if Noodle (great name) had litter mates? Kittens learn that biting too hard hurts when they're playing and their litter mates give out a squeal. A high pitched squeal is the best training against biting I know. When I've occasionally had the odd singleton it's how I've made sure I don't pass on a kitten with the biting habit. A bit of retraining doesn't hurt with an adolescent, especially a male.

all of the above - AND he's just at the right age for teething - give him cardboard boxes and plastic tubs to teeth on.n
He is gorgeous. Love his eyes.
