Re: Hello and thank you!
Noodle is just fabulous. Simba bites, too and Turkish Vans are particularly known for it. They're love bites
He doesn't hurt when he does it now but he used to. Squeak loudly and walk off with your back to him if he bites too hard. They soon learn how far they can go. Your fella will soon come around to having another. I mean it all makes logical sense, doesn't it!Welcome and thanks for sharing lovely Noodle with us ![]()

Re: Hello and thank you!
Aw he's a beauty
Purdy is younger than Noodle but she is going through a teething stage at the minute and I usually keep a cuddly toy to hand to put infront of her so she can have a good chew on that instead of my arm ![]() |

Re: Hello and thank you!
Thanks for all the replies and lovely Noodle compliments! The little man will be getting a big head, he already has me walking round the house telling him how beautiful he is every day!
As for other half persuasion, I'm beginning to think he won't need much persuasion after all! Jenny1966 - I showed him the photo you posted of your lovely two all snuggled up and he responded "AWWWWW, wouldn't it be cute if Noodle had a friend to cuddle up to", without even being prompted! I'll be holding him to that off hand remark. I've just started volunteering one day a week at a cat rescue so I'm sure when the time is right I'll fall in love with another bundle of fluff and we can add to the fur baby family! Noodle is an indoor cat so I think it would be nice for him to have another cat to socialise with eventually. I'm a little worried about introductions etc. but after reading some of your success stories and with your advice I'm sure it can be done!Regarding the biting, Noodle did have 3 litter mates and for some reason it's only a recent thing that he's started doing. (He especially likes bare feet and ankles when getting in/out of the shower ) I've given him plenty of things to chew on, drinking straws etc. incase it's beacuse of teething. I tried squeaking loudly at him today when he tried to have a chomp on my toe and he definitely seemed to back off a bit so fingers crossed this will train him out of it!He's booked in to be neutered on the 19th December, I hope this isn't too close to Christmas? From what I've read the recovery time is usually only a day so I'm really hoping he'll be bright and better in time to enjoy his million and one Christmas presents. I'm sure any good kitty mummy would be worried but I know it's for his own good and I know for a fact he's not worrying about it! It won't be a fun day for me but like buffie said, most of us go through it and it works out in the end! ![]() |

Re: Hello and thank you!
Hi again everyone!
I have another quick question for all you knowledgeable people, how often should kittens/cats be given flea and worm treatment? Noodle was flead and wormed by the vets when we first got him and when he had his first kitten vaccinations. He is now about 5 and a half months old. He is an indoor cat and we have no other pets so i presume it needs doing less often than if he was an outdoor cat? To update on the biteyness, I've found that making a high pitched squeak as suggested here seems to put him off so hopefully he'll get the hint that it isn't nice to be bitten soon! Thanks again for your help! |

Re: Hello and thank you!
He's turning into a right little stunner
glad his dodgy tummy has settled down. The biting he may just need to learn from you that it does hurt but he could also have sore teeth.... plastic drinking straws are great to chew on and make life long toys! Alfie still loves playing with them now! |
