Oh no names needed - we know EXACTLY who you mean!!

They came up in a previous thread about a month ago and it prompted many of us to look into the OOH service provided by our usual vets. Some, myself included, were very glad that we did because we found that many were giving their OOH to THAT company.

As such, we have put alternative arrangements in place (registering with a 2nd vet who provides in-house OOH cover) to ensure we do not end up with THAT lot.

Less than £400 for a c-section is something of a bargain. For an OOH I'd expect to see somewhere around £700 but the final bill can depend on what x-rays or scans have been done. Even with these blasted cowboy companies anything over £1200 is excessive. They charge around £130 (plus VAT of course) just to walk through the door and they'll add this OOH 'consultation fee' on where a normal vet wouldn't.
