Re: Could i be wrong???
The deffo seem happy and relaxed with each other. The pouncing on Rosie by Oscar sounds like he just wants to play. Bugs often just jumps onto Chewitts and vice versa then they chase each other and play. Maybe Rosie is reading too much into his jumping onto her thinking (as a past mated queen) that he may be wanting more?? I really wouldnt worry though hun they both seem totally happy and relaxed even with these little 'spats' if I can even call them that!

Re: Could i be wrong???
The Furbies pounce and fight with each other every day. From a human point of view, the headlocks look pretty severe. Just as I think "this is too much" they forget what they are doing and start grooming midway through the fight, then after 10 seconds of distraction and affection, they start up again and start whizzing around the flat.
I know they have deep affection for each other, so from the photos and sounds of it, I think your Oscar and Rosie like each other just fine. For us humans we want snuggles all the time, but in cat world, they like the sniffing, ignoring, strutting and swiping. If they didn't like each other I doubt they would share the same room, let alone the same sofa. ![]() |

Re: Could i be wrong???
Looking at the body language in those pics, I'd say they are both very relaxed in each others presence hun.
Rosie is simply learning that Oscar means her no harm. Unlike all the other male cats she has come into contact with, he doesn't want to have his end away with her and, for her, this is something new to learn. It has only been 3 weeks. Merson is still get a grump on with the babies (I think he's confused by the 2 of them!!!! ) and will occasionally still have a hiss, growl or snarl as he walks past them but it is getting less over time. We're now at 7 weeks!!I'd say, don't worry about it and let them get on with sorting it out themselves. ![]()

Re: Could i be wrong???
I think you are like me and had this idealised view of how we wanted them to be together, I agonised over getting a friend for Mika and seeing all those lovely pics on here of kittys snuggled up together was too cute to resist!
Rosso is 8 months now and I have resigned myself that it probably isn't going to happen.... I still think they are pals tho, they play together, sit looking out of the window at the birdies together, chase, play tag, hunt flys, wrestle, break into the treat jar... But just don't snuggle at all, in fact the closest they will sleep is very similar to the pics you have posted,....only yesterday when Mika was curled up on his favourite cushion Rosso approached and jumped up and started grooming him and for a few seconds I was thinking 'Awwwwww look at that' when suddenly the little **** grabbed Mika round the throat in a head lock and it all kicked off, leaving Rosso all smug to claim the prime spot!!!! It's still much earlier days for your two but you night have to accept that they might not be the snuggley types.... Doesn't mean they aren't friends and enjoy each others company and interaction!!!!

![]() Hugs Oscarsmam. You are so far ahead than us. I've been reading your other threads about Oscar and Rosie's fights and that Oscar gets Rosie in a head lock but I think its more play fighting??? Am I right? At least yours will spend time together in the same room that's more than Fluffy does ![]() I love Rosie's expressions. She has has such a wide spectrum of expressions. That photo of the two of them facing each other just screams "One false move from you Oscar and you gonna get it!" I think that personality wise Rosie seems more feisty and bossy by nature and Oscar just wants to go with the flow but gets fed up with being biffed (understanably). Just give it time. The more time you can allow for playing together with Da Bird (I must get one) the more successful you will be long term. Beautiful cats and I just want to give them a big cuddle!! |

Re: Could i be wrong???
What you describe is exactly how Molly and Manny are. They sit together with all their toys, they eat together, they sit on the cat tree together, they sit watching OH eat together
Oh has even had a joint cuddle! But ..... they chase each other like loons, and Molly can be very rough. She is so much bigger than Manny and they do have to be seperated at times because Manny really squeals But then 5 minutes later, Manny is looking for her ready for another chase! I think Manny would love a snuggle up to Molly, but at the moment she isn't having any of it ...... she still has to realise that her baby bro is here to stay ![]()

Re: Could i be wrong???
I'd be over the moon if Cassie and Wabbit got that close to eachother through choice. As it is, Wabbit has been here for a whole year and Cassie still well and truly hates his guts. If she sees him, she growls, if we say "Wabbit" in front of her, she growls! Mind Wabbit doesn't help the situation because he tries to say hello to her in his kitteny I love you way, and all hell breaks loose. Time and time again he tries it and time and time again it ends in a scrap, you'd think he'd get the message
![]() Anyway, I'd say they are making great progress for such a short amount of time together ![]() |
