Re: In from the cold-update

Over 4 weeks now and she has settled down into a routine. She wakes me up about 4.00ish by playing with my feet when I am in bed. They both have their breakfast at around 6.30, I play with both for a while and they both settle down again. I no longer so far have to let her out early as my Father lets both out at around 10.00. During the day they appear at the back window a few times and my Father lets them in and gives them a few Applaws dry food (4 or 5) then out they go again. By 3.30 -3.45 they come in to stay for the evening and now she hardly ever goes into her hiding place anymore and preferes relaxing on a diningroom chair or on the cat tree. She is still not sure of the picture screen on the tv but she is getting there. My next test is to vaccumm the house while she is still inside and upto now I have always done it when she is out. Shadow hates it and hides away. Ohhh yes I always have to clean out their litter trays twice within the hour in the mornings, great lol
She has learnt a lot from Shadow
I am so pleased with her progress

Re: In from the cold-update

It's great that Puss Puss has settled in so well I do think it helps if you have another cat in the house especially if the new cat or feral/stray is shy it does take time but strays are the most rewarding with their love as they have had a hard time before and I think they realise you have helped them

Re: In from the cold-update

Thank you for the update Etienne. It is so lovely to hear that Puss Puss is coming on so well and realising that being indoors is not so bad after all. I'm sure she is also loving having a playmate in Shadow & so is not lonely anymore.

As always, great big kudos to you for giving her so much love and attention to being her to this much nicer point in her life.

So good to hear that Puss Puss has discovered that being indoors is not that scary and she is enjoying the attention of her slave!

Re: In from the cold-update

I don't know the full story behind Puss Puss, but so pleased that she has settled in well. I agree with Vivien about strays being very rewarding and loving, as they seem to know you have resuced them. Keep up the good work.

I'm so pleased that Puss Puss is settling in to being indoors, it sounds like you've done a great job in a short space of time

Good luck with the vacuuming, my two hate it, Frankie will dive out of the cat flap and Seb hides under the bed. My Timmy was never bothered, I had to vacuum around him

It's great that Puss Puss has learned a lot from Shadow, I think having another cat does help, Frankie is a very outdoorsy boy and since having Seb he comes in and stays in a lot more

Keep us updated

Re: In from the cold-update

I slept well until 4.00am and the two decided to join me on the bed. How on earth can you slaves sleep with more than one on the bed?
