Aren't our Cats our children?

I mean we adopt them when they are babaies. we look after them, clean them, was them, feed them and sleep with them, sometimes we read stories to them, and we kiss them and tell them that we love them... <3

Re: Aren't our Cats our children?

Your 2 options are quite limited so I cannot vote. To me I think no, they are not my children. My son is my son and the love I have for him will never be replicated, though I would never say "No, they are just pets"
I adore my pets (2 rabbits, kitten coming next week) and would do anything for them but to me there is a difference between how I feel for my son and how I feel for my pets.

Re: Aren't our Cats our children?

When I was 16 I declared that I was never producing off-spring and now, almost 30 yrs later, folks are FINALLY starting to realise that I meant it!!!!

I CHOSE not to have human babies - I absolutely did not want them.

I CHOSE to have cats - I absolutely adore them.

Cats are NOT my substitute human children - as those who lack comprehension like to suggest - as that would imply that at some point I wanted human children and the lack of being able to led me to have cats instead.

NO human children ever and a lifetime of cats was 100% MY CHOICE.

Re: Aren't our Cats our children?

My son is my child, my Furbies are my pets.

They are both my family and I love them all loads, but differently.

However, Duncan is in a catagory all by himself!
