Re: Aren't our Cats our children?

They are family and share my home...all my family know about them and either love them (nieces and nephews especially) or at least aren't mean (no crazy cat lady jokes)

But they aren't like kids, if/when I have kids I would like to have pets too. For me - they fill different parts of life/home/heart. I want it all!!

Re: Aren't our Cats our children?

I'm a mummy two both my dogs and to my one cat and a nanny to my other cat.
If someone said my name to my kids as I call them I don't think they would know who to go too

Re: Aren't our Cats our children?

We don't have human children (our choice), but we consider our cats as family. I heard my OH complaining to a friend that it wasn't fair that our cats cannot be registered as "dependents" . Anyway, I was always terribly squeamish, but I can pick up poop and vomit, wash dire rear bums without turning a hair. I also remove sleep from their eyes with my bare fingers It must be love.
I suppose it is rather pathetic and sad and I know some of my friends and colleagues think I am a crazy cat lady, but what the heck...they ARE my babies.
