We're not getting a kitten after all
Hi there all,
Just to say that were not getting the kitten I thought we were. I told you Mum moved the litter into the garden which backed onto the one where they were originally. The lady whose new garden it was works nights so I wasn't able to contact her for a couple of weeks. Then I was passing one Saturday afternoon and saw their car outside and knocked. She said that working nights she couldnt cope with Mum and the kits so they have gone to a cat sanctuary in Retford for re-homing. I'm sorry not to have the kitten as it was very sweet but things are a bit awkward here at the moment as my Mum is in hospital and I am running around visiting and housekeeping, which is why I've not put anything on the forum for a while. I'm not actively looking for another cat or kitten at the moment but I believe in fate and I'm sure the right kitten will turn up when the time is right. |

It takes courage to be able to let go of 'a new kitten' for now yet to remain hopeful 'one day', kitten will come back your way. Seems like you have given the matter a lot of thought. I really appreciate the level of maturity you've demonstrated and the way you have taken responsibility not just for the kitten's welfare, also for your mum and everything else that might be going on for you in your life right now. Have no doubt when the time comes, the kitten will find you to be the 'right' owner because of your caring attitude. Take care of yourself for now, |

Re: We're not getting a kitten after all
Sorry, but you're giving me more credit than I feel I'm due. I called on the lady who works nights to say that we wanted the kitten but could she keep it for me until next week when I am off work using up my annual holiday allowance. However, she had already sent them and their Mum to Retford. My Mum is still in hospital but should be home next week, all being well. I know the shelters are bursting and feel that we should take in another waif as we have room for one, but as I've said its not the easiest of times at the moment and I'm sure another kitten will turn up eventually.

Re: We're not getting a kitten after all
I hope your mum gets well soon - as you say a kitten will turn up when you are ready - just concentrate on you and your mum at the moment.

Re: We're not getting a kitten after all
There will always be cats & kittens in rescue needing homes and, when it is the right time for you, 'your' cat will be there for you.
![]() As long as you get a cat from a rescue, you'll still be 'doing your bit'. And maybe you could think of getting an older cat, rather than a kitten, because it will be a bit less manic and maybe a bit more settled for your home if your mum's health is not the best. ![]()
