Antibiotics

Apologies for not putting this is in the health section - but this area tends to get more responses. My kitten has to go on a long course of antibiotics - ronaxan. Is there anything I should be giving to look after her inner workings?

Re: Antibiotics

You can get probiotic pastes or powders from the vets but you will need to speak to the vet about using these whilst your kitten is on the antibiotics.

I hope your kitten is going to be ok! What is it needing the antibiotics for??

Re: Antibiotics

If it's Ronaxan it must be for a respiratory infection? If you mean you wish to avoid the potential 'side-effects' of antibiotic use ie imbalance of gut flora then a probiotic is required.

Re: Antibiotics

Thank you. Yes, it is a respiratory infection. I will ask about a probiotic.
