Typical Oscar and Rosie

I've uploaded a typical fight/spat of Oscar and Rosie! This is the usual but normally Rosie runs away and this time she's hissing and growling what do you think? I know Oscar is playing but she really doesn't like him in my opinion

Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

I could script that Rosie so obviously doesn't want to play and Oscar just isn't getting the message, even turning round to ask you why she won't play
I wouldn't say that she doesn't like him, she just wants some peace. I think Oscar will eventually learn when to leave her alone.

Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

I think if she really didn't like him she wouldn't be that close It look's like Oscar is being so good with her, and I'm sure in time, she will realise that all he want's is to be friends

Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

What a cute vid! Oscar is soooo cuddly. I'd just give it time. Rosie doesn't seem aggressive. Like the others have said she just wants to be left along. At least they are in the same room together. My Fluffy only comes in to eat

Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

Aww - that's so sweet There doesn't seem to be any hate there at all - just Rosie wanting to be left alone. I do think they will become much more friendly. It's very early days yet and Rosie has been through a lot. Give them time and find Rosie a space of her own where she can rest without Oscar pestering her to play.

Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

This is Oscar wanting to play and her not - she may just not be a very playful cat - his rolling over to expose his tum is a play invitation (saying he isn't going to hurt her) - she seems happy enough, she isn't cowering or desperately trying to get away from him. It's still very, very early days - I'd try to relax about it a bit more as she may be picking up on your tension and so unable to relax herself. She looks very settled and now you just need to leave her to be herself. That may or may not include playing.

Archer is on a distinguished road
Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

Hey your cats are beautiful! I am very envious!

My take on it would be that Oscar is confident in his surrounding and as the new girl on the block Rosie is still unsure of her ground so she's concentrating on settling in and I guess it's like someone in your face.,,you ask them to go away nicely, then you tell them and if they still aren't listening then you physically prove your point.

It's still very new to her whereas Oscar is very happy with his own space. I really wouldn't worry it's still very early days and I honestly think in time they will be the best of friends. She's just unsure of herself at the moment.

I am no cat expert but after refereeing two males and a farm cat when I split with my ex and moved home I'd have been chuffed to boys if they'd even developed half the tolerance your cats have of each other.

Re: Typical Oscar and Rosie

awwww hun eventually what I'm figuring out is that the older cats are more stubborn its not like settling in a kitten and she has been in a rescue for a while so she will take a while before she trusts him that much Tilly is the same although Tilly doesn't actually know how to play lol
