oko plus... dust!!
Hi, I have been using oko for a little while now & think its great for odours, clumping etc... However, it seems to get dusty very quickly, I know its supposed to las 4 weeks but I am only leaving it 2 as it is so dusty. I am sure its contributing to the bogies round their little noses! Has anyone else found this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Re: oko plus... dust!!
Ive been using it for 6/7 weeks now and I'm on my second full change of litter and did find by the end of the first 2/3 weeks that there was a bit of dust but managed to sift most of it out,it took a bit of time but was worth it.The second litter tray fill was worse as there seemed to be a fair bit of dust at the bottom of the bag,I sieved as much of the dust out as i could as I was filling the tray.

Re: oko plus... dust!!
I found that it got quite dusty after about week 3. I had to hold my breath when cleaning the trays as I was getting a sore throat from breathing it in.
No such problems with Natures Gold tho'!!

Re: oko plus... dust!!
Yup, mine gets dusty too. The surface is fine, but when you dig through for clumps there is lots of dust at the bottom of the tray.
I don't think it really bothers the cats though, as they have enough hard bits to dig through. I tend to put a sprinkling of new stuff on the top every week and then have a full clean every 3/4 weeks. The covered litter tray means I don't breathe in any dust either when I am creating my zen patterns in the cleaned litter ![]() |
