Furbies without their tree

Been told by estate agents that prospective buyers think our living room is small and they think the huge cat tree may be causing this perception. Also, it is by the French Doors so blocks direct views to the garden.

Therefore, until further notice we are moving the cat tree to the communal hallway. This makes no difference during the day when we are not there, as they aren't allowed in the living room anyway.

However, my husband (at home today) said he has just moved it to the hallway as we have people coming over now, and the Furbies are stood in the living room, in the spot where their tree usually is, looking up and wondering.....

My Mum said to me 'Its not as if you are leaving it behind for them, why are people so dumb. Poor cats having their space rearranged - they love that tree"

This is the lady who claims not to like cats but will sing to Wilbur every time she comes over as he meows back and rolls over for a belly tickle from her. Methinks someone is in denial.....

I'm sure they will soon find other ways of burning off their excess energy....

Re: Furbies without their tree

They must be a bit put out.

It is a good idea though. It's all about first impressions isn't it and I suppose you are used to it and it doesn't seem big. It probably will help. Fingers crossed for a buyer soon

Re: Furbies without their tree

If I wasn't desperate for someone to take it I would have said "S*d off, its their tree and its staying!" However, I can't think that way, and the sooner someone puts in an offer, the sooner I can put the tree back.

We are also moving my son's toys to storage (except for Star Wars lego of course!) so his room looks bigger too.

The thing is, when I was viewing properties, my focus was on whether I needed to paint, or re carpet. I wasn't looking at their furniture and thinking, "Oh no, that cabinet is too big...."

However I know the agents are right - some people just see a big tree/lots of toys and think that the room must have shrunk.

Fingers crossed the viewers today take it !!!!

Re: Furbies without their tree

fingers and paws crossed.
Some people are just really dense tbh like you said you look at what could be needed to be done not the furniture when looking your meant to be able to look around things otherwise everyone would have to empty their house before selling it. But MB has given the kitties some ideas there toilet roll mayhem jumping through walls apparently lol and there is always using you as a tree lol

Re: Furbies without their tree

Some people really DO lack imagination when it comes to viewing properties. I have always gone in looking at what I could or would do to a place, NEVER how it looked at that moment!!!!

But there are folks who can only see what is in front of them......

Good luck hun, hope today's the day!!!!

Fingers crossed for ya!
