Splodge & Kittens getting rehomed soon!

Hey guys i wanted to know, how do you feel when you rehome your kittens?
im selling them towards the end of this month, and the beginning of next they will be round 11/12 weeks old,

& just thinking about selling them kinda feels me with dread!

ive been thinking about rehoming splodge and hopefully someone will have her and a kitten, i feel abit upset at the moment, cause obviously im so used to them being around, ive bonded with them and love them so much!

and i feel bad splitting them all up wish they all go together, i really wish i could keep them all
but i have so many pets at the moment, so ive been asking round friends, they cant really have one because there living in flats that dont allow pets, so ive asked them to ask round work, cause theres alot of people that are pet lovers and have cats and dogs, fingers crossed!
cause im not keen on them going to complete strangers, and would like to hear updates on them and how there getting on i just want them all to have the best in life

Re: Splodge & Kittens getting rehomed soon!

I was a complete stranger when I got my Susie and Leo and I texted the previous owner with a little update the other week. The lady said that she knew that I would give them a fantastic home. You just get a vibe! You will be able to tell immediately if someone is really serious. What I would do if I was you is drop some "awkward questions" in naturally in the conversation like for example. "Every evening at around 9 pm the kittens suddenly go crazy and start dashing round the living room like crazy scaletrix kittens, how would you feel about that?" that way you will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff because any experienced cat owner will know that that is normal kitten/cat behaviour and they do have their crazy half hours.

Sometimes you get people that can't hack it and return the cat after a few days. Funnily enough I think I read a thread similar today? My friends sister in law returned a kitten within 24 hours because it scratched her daughter!

Good luck! I'm sure you won't hand the babies over to anyone you feel is not suitable. Go with your gut instinct!

Re: Splodge & Kittens getting rehomed soon!

I like people who are happy to get down on the floor with my kittens, who let the kittens climb all over them With mine being Siamese I like to know what sort of experience they have had of Siamese as they can be very demanding and I do point out some of their worst behaviour too You do get a 'feel' for people and can judge by the way they answer your questions or react to what you are telling them and I'm sure you will find the right people for Splodge's babies.

Re: Splodge & Kittens getting rehomed soon!

Thanks lymorelynn

The white female got rehomed yesterday afternoon, and i knew it would be hard, i cried the night before, i cried twice before she went, and cried after she went, i was in complete bits and felt very sick, i just wish there was a way i could of kept them all and not split them up i felt guilty but surpose it has to be done, i still feel quite upset now,
And it kicked in with Splodge this afternoon she was miawing her head off, looking every where, it completely broke my heart
she seems okay now though!
And the 2 kittens and Splodge are getting advertised and probabaly rehomed next week, i am completely dreading it

I wanted someone i know to have one, but my friends who i trust cant cause there living in flats that dont allow pets there friends at work cant have them cause there husbands have said no or they already have pets.

i am completely dreading next week, im gonna be like this all over again

Ive decided i would like to try and rehome Splodge with one of her kittens, if they go and shes still here i'll try rehoming her on her own, but i reckon if it comes to that i will keep her cause im not having her go to any cat shelter!

Did anyone of you feel like this?
i just feel so sad, i surpose i should feel happy cause there having a start in life, with a new life and family but i just miss her and feel ever so upset!

Re: Splodge & Kittens getting rehomed soon!

I don't cry - my son in law says I'm hard - but I do worry about them until I hear that they have arrived safely at their new homes and have settled in. I often think about them once they have gone - even the ones that are now almost 2 years old and I love to hear from their slaves.
After her first litter left Mai Tai wandered around for about a week looking for them, carrying a little toy that she always has with her now when she has kittens (I'm sure she thinks it's a kitten and it has to be with the others ) Now she might carry the toy around for a couple of days but she doesn't really look for the kittens. I think Rosie will miss them more but as she's off to stud tomorrow perhaps she won't notice
