Question Do your cats "hug"?

Dinah and Monty often hug each other, like this...

They quite frequently sleep like that. It's adorable, but I wondered about the psychology of it... do they realise they're hugging? Is it affection or just a way to keep warm?

Your thoughts please.

Mine do all the time!! It really is the cutest thing!! I definately think they know that it feels cozy and reasurring to cuddle up together.

Are Dinah and Monty litter mates. My two Susie and Leo are and right from the moment I set my eyes on them they were joined at the hip lol!

Bonnie that's a beautiful pic. I'd have that one framed on the wall

Yes, they are litter mates. It sounds like cuddles are quite common then!

Awww. Yes, ours cry when they're apart too... it's so pathetic but really sweet. Sometimes one of them will be curled up on my lap and I'll hear the other one (usually Monty) crying on the stairs, looking for Dinah. So I call him, he comes running, and I show him Dinah is safe on my lap, which calms him down.
