Re: harness training

Why don't you just hold the harness and let him find his way outdoors in his own time? I'm thinking being plonked out there was too much for him, but if he's left to choose when he wants to go out in his own time curiosity will eventually get the better of him

Re: harness training

You call him a kitten, how old is he. - he could be too young, but perhaps if he is a young cat, just remember outside is a big wild world for him however confident he may be indoors with it on.

do you have a back garden to take him in to , if you do perhaps try holding him in your arms, cuddled into your body with his harness in and just let him look, building up the time, perhaps even sitting on the floor with him.

Re: harness training

hes nearly 7 months old, i have been taking him into the garden in my arms and is fine with that, we started in the kitchen by the back door and he walked out himself but i then had to close the door as my other 2 cats may have gotten out and 1 of them doesnt like the harness, am thinking of shutting them in a different room and trying then the door can stay open,
