Happy Birthday my little love, the favourite

Nearly 3 years ago you came into our lives and we don't know what we did before you. I had been thinking of getting a friend for Pippin, as he was a little kitten and Henry and Ellie didn't really want to play with him. During an ice storm, no less, something told me to get to the shelter. There you were, in the very bottom cage, the last one left from a litter of 4. You meowed at me, but I couldn't hear it through the glass. I asked them to take you out and I held you until the shelter closed. I didn't want to make any rash decisions, so I drove home without you. But I couldn't stop thinking about your little chocolate colored feet and squishy little face.

The next day, I was there as they opened and I snatched you up before anyone else got the chance to beat me to it. And every day you make me glad that I did. It was really love at first sight and you are truly my best little cat buddy. I hope you live forever

All my children have paws!

Gwennie has finally made an appearance--she's been lord knows where most of the morning and early afternoon (probably causing trouble in the basement), and so I waited to read all of your messages to her. She looked happy, and said "thank mew all" then she had some lunch (ahi tuna and tuna with crab surimi) and now she's taken to her cat bed, which has been strategically placed in the sunshine so that it was warmed up for her and she's basking in the sun in it now, happy as can be.

Later, while the dogs are out and can't eat her presents, she'll get a sponge ball and a big fluffy mouse to play with until she heads off for the next nap.

Ahhh, such a life!
