Re: Getting rid of smells

I'll get some of that then I don't have loads of things in my cupboard either - just floor cleaner which I don't use now as don't think it's safe for the cats, bleach, bathroom cleaner and a bottle of spray for the carpet if there's any accidents. I don't use anti-bac sprays either - use milton wipes for the kitchen.

Re: Getting rid of smells

I just spent a good chunk of Saturday doing this very thing and when I inquired on here first, bio washing powder, Simple Solution, or Urine Off were the main suggestions. I had a similar thing called Ewwwww in the cupboard, but none of this bio powder (we label things differently here and I can't figure out what I need).

I ended up mopping the floor with half white vinegar/half hot water. I mopped it like three times and left a lot of it so it could soak into the cement and neutralize the pee. Then after it dried I sprayed liberally with the Ewwwww.
Fingers crossed nobody has peed since.

Re: Getting rid of smells

I've got the simple solutions stuff but it's the one for soft furnishings Will try the biological powder and see how I get on. Need to get a sample next

Another question, how quickly do I have to get urine to the vets after got a sample?

Re: Getting rid of smells

I was gonna say Urine Off. My breeder recommended it to me when we got Jaffe just incase he had an accident. She said it has something in it that breaks down the fatty acids in the wee that makes cats always go back to the same spot. She told be it's brilliant. I'm afraid I haven't used it myself but thought I'd pass the tit bit on although KFM beat me to it

Yes but Febreeze doesn't get rid of the enzymes that the cats can smell meaning they still go back and pee in the same spot.

Does smell nice though

Re: Getting rid of smells

I had a marked bit of floor where I tried Jeyes Fluid, bio washing powder and Dettol and it still smelled. Then I used Cillit Bang with bleach - success!
