Re: What would you do??

its total bollards, they can be neutered at 8weeks of age! weight doesnt really play a part with boys, its a 10 min op quick snip thats it, he may have problems with the other one not coming down a more longer op, but Im pretty sure like humans with one ball he can still sire, so will still be full of hormones, if his already humping id be very worried as spraying is the next step and once it starts!! Id call another vet!!

Re: What would you do??

Hmmm...Jaffe was done at 12 weeks. I guess the fact that only one testicle has dropped is the main issue but if he is starting to hump things I honestly think it's worth trying to see a different vet. Is it a possibility to take him to a vets near your in laws?

Re: What would you do??

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought BSH's were normally pretty chunky bubbas?
I start panicking when I read that male kittens of 6 months old weigh 2kg's less than my 6 month old girls

They are normally, Salem is a slow growing BSH, my Breeder said he is fine and the vets have no concerns about him, just said they can't castrate him

Re: What would you do??

Over here the general rule is 2lbs or 2 months. So, much smaller than what he is now is safe.

As for that other testicle, I've mentioned before that Blake's had reascended when we got him done. They opened him up, just like with a spay--he was shaved from armpits to tail--and took it out of his abdomen. He was fairly miserable and sad when he came home. No purrs till bedtime, but the next day he was much better. He curtailed his running about for a couple of days, but he really bounced back quickly, just like a female would really.

I'm with TB--if he's humping, he'll likely start spraying soon, and you really don't want that. So, find a different vet (although I know that's a scary prospect) or feed that boy up
