We went to the vets yesterday with Max Tiga and Purdy ( yep it was difficult to say the least) Tiga went for his belated booster as he is over his Torovirus now Purdy for a check up as she has had an ear infection and Max was just going to see the nurse for weighing and flea prevention (he is on adult advocate now so we won't have to do this any more) so I said to hubby ask the nurse if he is going to be ok for neutering next month as the vet had just called me in with Tiga and Purdy hubby comes into the consulting room and anounces that Max is being done next week well Laura our vet took one look at my face and reassured me it's ok at 5 months and that they do it at 4 months now i am still not happy I would have preferred to waited untill 6 months perhaps I am wrong it's just that is the way I have always done it so I am going to need some moral support next Tuesday I am going to be so worried

Hi Vivien you'll get all the support you need as none of us were overly pleased at the thought no matter how old or young our little furbies were.My vet has always said if he can grip 'em he can snip 'em.Max will be fine ,Meeko like most of the other boys have all been racing around as though nothing had happened.

Mouse is booked in for next Thursday and he will only be 5 months too , I`m dreading it

Thanks Buffie I have been through this sooooooo many times but it never gets any easier but its just because Max is such a baby I suppose my maternal instincts are kicking in its just that hubby seemed so pleased it was being done early as well grrrrrrr

I am dreading it even though I know in my heart that he will be alright I always hate it when they go in for neutering I will not have a female cat after my Mikki as she would not keep her collar on and it caused us no end of worry but that was 3 years ago and she is absolutely fine good luck with Mouse next Thursday fingers and paws crossed

My little Seb is coming up to 15 weeks old and he was neutered at 10 weeks and before I got him. I adopted him from Rushden Persian Rescue and the lovely Patsy said he was just fine afterwards

Kitty is going in next Monday and he will be 17 weeks, think he'll be more than fine

Older boy went in similar time and all was well, he's turned out a handsome boy in every way
