Question Christmas Trees!!!!!

Ok, who's being brave this year and putting one up????

Previously, I haven't have this problem because the OAP's were never that fussed about it. Even when Merson was a kitten, he didn't bother with the tree at all.

However, this year, now that we have got Abby & McGee I just have a feeling that the two of them will be vying to be the fairy on the top.....

In the past I have always 'introduced' my kittens to the tree as I was putting it together - so I'd get out the tree bits and let them have a good sniff. And then put the lights on the floor - lit up - let them have a good sniff. Then doing the same with all the various decorations etc. By the time the tree was done, the kitten of the time had sniffed it all to bits and was bored with it. Hence, one christmas tree intact for 6 weeks.

But these two........ Different kettle of kitties altogether..... In a face-off moment, I wouldn't be fancying the tree's chances........

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

Alfie's not fussed by the tree.... even has his own bauble for it Unfortunately we don't have room for it this year after purchasing him a rather large cat tree off zooplus just after xmas... guess will have to decorate that instead lol

I tried them out with some flashy lights in a vase last week. The pair of them had a sniff and then ignored it after that.

We also have a fibre-optic tree so I'm thinking of bringing that down in a couple of weeks and seeing what they do with that. If it also ends up being ignored, then I might be brave and chance it.......

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

My two are fine with the tree, so are the dogs.

Tbh it's only my OH when he's had a few drinks that is the liability!!!

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

hmmmm we are debating this at the moment.

Last year Molly was only little and only arrived on christmas eve. The tree was already up, apart from swatting a few baubles, she was ok.

This year ..... hmmmmmmmm with Molly being much bigger and the newbie being 6 months old by then, I think we might be chancing our luck!!

I have in the past, with my old 2 cats, come home to total destruction I had a massive tree, reached the ceiling and almost as wide, that the pair of them pulled down and ripped every decoration off!! I honestly thought I had been burgled!! They were both lucky they weren't hanging from the new one I had to go buy!!!
