Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

Eric was only 6-7 months old last Christmas and it was a nightmare! He knocked it over so many times! He just attacked it constantly! Fingers crossed for this year

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

This will be my first christmas with cats and I've been thinking about this-if I put a tree up I'm sure I won't have a minute's peace with it.

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

Glad someone posted this thread, been thinking about this. Never had a cat before so new to me. Biggest problem is where to put it. Ozzies tree takes up the space it normally goes. My son is not happy at the thought we might not have one. The usual debate is artificial or real, son has threatened to leave home if he can't.have a tree. Oh well, i'l miss him

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

Because my cats attacked our regular tree, I made my own "abstract" "tree" (see pic from last year) from dowelling and garden mesh painted silver and then strung with white lights. Tinsel is on the inside. Apart from some sniffing at it, they did not seem that interested. Of course, lights are not left on unsupervised.

Re: Christmas Trees!!!!!

Great tree there!!
I've decided on artificial now, not only safer for chewers, but also I think Treacle will soon learn if it's branches are too flimsy for climbing! I will put all safe decorations on (no tinsel or garlands of any kind). We have a very sturdy metal base stand which we use for real trees, so can use that if necessary, although the fake trees I saw in Homebase yesterday looked quite strong
