That's what I was guessing

He may be a BSH but like taylorbaby said - unless he is fully health tested etc then get him neutered.

to be honest, iv had him booked in to be spayed since his 12 week vaccinations, and he's due this month

I just wondered how hard work they are if left, and doesnt sound too good!
