...drives me wild. I've got a lovely close family and do not think I'm lacking one bit for human company or closeness but since I've had cats and have become besotted (so talk about them........mm,well,fairly often I suppose !)..I've noticed I occasionally get that sort of psyeudo sympathetic attitude as if people think either ;a) I must be lonely and sad to love cats so much or b) I must be mentally deficient to love cats so much.....................when actually I don't consider myself to be either and can't understand why folk can't see what they're missing by not sharing their lives with these beautiful (if contrary at times!) creatures?

i hate it too i get it all the time like I'm weird cause i love them and want to help other cats as well.

I am not lacking human contact i have as much as i can cope with lol my family have accepted it but also say you need to have a real life out there with people lol i am not keen on this attitude of others that cats and dogs are less than cause they are not human

I've got a photo of mine as my desktop background at work - someone said to me the other day 'whats happened to you, how does D (OH) feel about you being so mad on cats all of a sudden'

Erm, its not all of a sudden but I am only now in a position to be able to afford to keep them and know they can be well looked after, and have any vet bills etc covered.

And if D had a problem with cats, he certainly wouldnt have suggested getting a friend for Willow, and then saying we should both the kittens after we visited them. In fact we wouldnt have Willow in the first place

Some people just need to concentrate on their own lives, which must be pretty empty if all they have to entertain them is commenting on how other people live theirs!

My husband knows I love my cats and listens as I rattle on how cute they are or what beautiful look they have given me in the day... then he has a blank look on his face.. so he's switched off.....

None of my family have cats as they all have dogs...so they are not interested really..

My husbands family are either allergic ( rather handy ) or just hate them!!!!!!! they think I am just a mad Welsh woman anyway, I don't care one dot, as I love my babies and will continue having more

Yep. I get it ripped out of me, and to be honeest it's quite nice as long as it's not meant badly. At work last week my boss paraphrased a well known movie quote: "The first rule of cat club is the ALWAYS talk about cat club." Hmm. :P

lol i love my babys i get the shocked look when people ask how many cats ive got ( 6 ) my family are like why have you got so many cats ...because they are loving, lovely, peacful creatures

yeah mine are like what why do you have so many and why are you fostering...... just by asking that question it is obvious they have no idea about it so i just say cause i prefer them to the humans lol
