Hello
Hi, I was browsing the internet and came across this site, so thought I would join you.
We have recently got 2 kittens (we will have had them a week tomorrow evening), they are 11 weeks old. Our daughters named them Mikey and Ollie. We got them from our local Cats Protection and the lady there was really helpful, she helped us choose the right kittens for us and gave us advice. We decided to buy the same food as they were having at the cats protection so as not to upset there stomachs, which is Whiskas kitten wet food and I bought GoCat dry food as well. Does this sound like a good combination Kathryn |

Re: Hello
Welcome to the Forum.
Yes, photos pls - an essential item for us, as we love drooling over cute cats I got our kittens from CP too and they were fantastic. During the home visit though the lady took one look at my Go Cat and told me to go out and get some better quality dry as Go Cat doesn't have a high enough meat content, especially for kittens. She suggested Hills Science Plan Kitten, which I still feed them as they love it. However there are better dry foods too, and Zooplus is a great online place to buy foods and supplies from. As previous poster has suggested, the best place to look is the nutrition section as you can find lots of different wet and dry foods on there, and can find one to match your budget etc. My kittens were started on Felix and Hills (what they got at CP) but now have about 4 different wet foods fed in rotation and two different dry foods, which al vary in price. Totally indulged Furbies! Right advice given = Photos pls! ![]() |

Re: Hello
Hi and welcome to the forum as MCWillow has said we need pics before we give out any advice
I will go and find a link for you to a very helpful thread about feeding in general but at the moment sticking with what your kittens are used to is the best way to go.after a week or two you can start to introduce them to the food you want them to have.Whiskas is not one of the best foods around,if you are willing to order on line then Zoo plus is the best place to order food from. Most members agree that wet food is much better than dry and high meat content foods such as Grau,Animonda Carny, smilla are just some of the foods available. If you feel you must feed some dry try to feed grain free such as Orijen or Applaws .Good luck and if you need any advice, just ask, cant guarantee we will know the answer but we will try to help if we canFeeding cats for beginners (and more seasoned cat owners alike) |
