Unhappy Advice needed

Hi,

I havent been on the forum for a few weeks but have come on today seeking advice.

There is a ginger tom cat that has been visiting my colleagues at their workplace for the last few weeks (since end of Sept/begining of Oct) and we're not sure if he's lost or abandoned. We have taken him to the local vets who have scanned him and found a microchip, the vets have contacted the registered owner and left an answer phone message but there has been no response. The vets have told us the general area that the cat has come from and it seems it has travelled about 1.5 - 2 miles, oh and we also know that his name is Jack. Jack has been well fed by my colleagues and, they later found out, also by the lady who runs the corner shop and also the man who owns the fish and chip shop I've been told he's a very affectionate boy who visits them Mon - Fri promply at 9am as they arrive for work by the front door and when they enter the building he quickly goes to the back door and starts meowing for the door to be opened and to be let in for his breakfast. With the cold weather coming fast and bonfire night looming I'm a lil worried about leaving Jack to fend for himself, I just wish his mummy would phone the vet I'm currently torn between leaving him as he is and hope he is actually going home every evening and taking him home for the weekend and taking him back on Monday so that he's indoors this weekend during all the fireworks.

What should/can i do??

Re: Advice needed

Is it possible that he could stay inside in the work place during the weekend. Could someone visit and feed him and him be in a safe place with a litter tray. At least it would be familiar surroundings then. I'd worry about bonfire night too

Poor boy

Or is it possible that someone could visit the owners address and see if they want him back? If they don't and noone at your work wants to rehome him it's worth involving a rescue. The weather will start getting colder soon.

Thanks for the quick reply.

They wouldnt be able to keep him in there for the weekend because the place has to have the motion sensor alarms set when it's not open. If I had the address I would take Jack back to them and see if they actually wanted him but the vets will only tell us the area he is from and not the address for confidentiality reasons. If I just knew the street it could at least do a leaflet drop along the street. I might work on the in-laws when I see them this weekend to see if they want to rehome him

I didn't think of that I'll call the vet tomorrow and see if they can do that. Will call the local rescue to see if they can help too
