Re: male or Female
Yes, I agree with that, too. We have two girls and a boy and all are very affectionate and lovable, but the girls, when they are in the mood for it are very loving indeed, whereas Kidd, being a typical male is always up for it!

Re: male or Female
All of my girls are lap cats and like a fuss but don't like being picked up and held whereas Oscar and Socks will both be picked up and lay on their backs in my arms like babies!!!
They also purr like engines the minute they see me! |

Re: male or Female
as said it can very much depends on outside factors (as Lyn said the socialising etc) but i would say boys are just slightly more affectionate when it comes to Maine Coons anyway, the girls tend to portray an air of independence but will very happily forget that for a scratch behind the ear lol xx

Re: male or Female
In my experience it's more of a personality than sex thing. I've had girls and boys, neutered and not but they have all been different on the amount they liked to be cuddled. I had a pair of resuce Siamese several years ago - two girls, one loved to sit on my shoulder, draped around my neck, the other did not like to be picked up but would sit on my husband's lap all night.
