Ive had both and i found my males to be a bit more softer than the females and a bit more out going and cuddly. Females i have found its more on there own terms. Although the same could be said about any cat.My friends female is ultra friendly and doesnt leave her alone for cuddles or likes to go round like a parrot on her sholder. I would have a look at the litter your get an idear of how they are when you meet them. You might just have a connection with one be it female or male. Its very much how they are brought up and can be luck of the draw as to if they remain that friendly into adult hood. Especally as they get near breeding age. My personnel choice would be male for me. Hope you find a lovely lap cat be it male or female. Good luck.

I agree, I always say that if i could only have one cat, it would have to be a neutered boy. My girls are very affectionate but there's something special about the boys!
