Where is the best and cheepest place to get cat proofing for my garden
I have a number of Pedigree cats some of which go out in the garden
and will not attempt to or can't jump the fence but i have a few who will
so i would like to get some sort of cat proofing for the garden. Thank you in advance. xx

for my Birman,
i have made a cat run.......................
to get out, there is a catflap in the wall and the walls r chicken wire/fly wire/shade cloth and over some of it there is some plastic roofing to keep them dry if it rains while they r out there!
it costs a fair bit but when your cat lives for 15+ years it's worth it!

This is my thread about cat proofing, it cost me about £450 for parts and labour for around 35 linear metres, there was quite a lot of work chopping back shrubs and ivy but the fence itself was already 5 foot and in good condition.
This is the DIY option but there are also professionally installed systems although they would work out a lot more expensive.

If you have 6 foot fencing up already then it can be done quite cheaply.
You will need some brackets for the netting so have a look at some DIY stores or have some made from a metal fabrication factory.
Then we got some pond netting from a garden centre. Our pond netting was a bit limp when attached to the brackets so we threaded wire through it. So I would either get stronger stuff or wooden trellis fitted. I thing wooden trellis would cost more.
Here are my pictures.
It works very well and although i have a tree they have never climbed it to get over it.
It also means that they have free access to the outside world and in the summer it is nice to be able to have all your doors and windows open.

We cat-proofed our garden for about £100.
We have an existing brick wall and several trees around the perimeter, so we used the tree trunks and 6ft metal garden poles attached to the wall as the verticals, and attached netting to them using cable clips in various sizes. Our cats are great climbers so at around 6-8ft we attached more netting horizontally to create a canopy. We had to chop quite a few branches off for access. The netting was very cheap (Homebase - the stuff that's on a big roll). We used millions of cable clips which cost a lot more than the netting!

Here is an album of the finished fence - top and bottom (don't forget you little darlings can dig...). Netting cost about £400 all told from Felisafe including a second order for extra brackets for the shed. 61 meters of netting and fixtures. Add chicken wire and about 30-40 hours work on and off for a number of months - dedicating real time and having more than one or one+half people doing it would speed things up.
