Re: Getting a new cat but going away for a month

Nothing to add really.Kittens that have recently arrived in the world will just be around the ideal 12/13 week stage by the time you are ready to bring them home.So if you find a breeder now and reserve two kittens and then you can spend the time before you leave to go on holiday, buying all the "kitten stuff"in readiness for their arrival. Please remember to come back and show us the furbabes .Oh and sorry ,Wecome to the forum

Re: Getting a new cat but going away for a month

I couldn't agree more. I left my cats for a week in September, including my baby Gaudi, and he had grown so much in this one week, I felt I had missed so much....

And I knew I really had nothing to worry about, as their 'furry godmother', my friend Carol, and her 3 children were fussing over them, spoiling them rotten, and my other friend, who is also my neighbour, also checked on them every day. And Xena, the youngest of my queens, has been playing mother to Gaudi ever since he arrived...

So they were being cared for and fussed over from all sides. Carol sent me pics of them on my mobile almost daily, but I still hated being away and couldn't wait to get home...

Enjoy your trip and get the kittens when you get home, or you will just be drawn home to them every minute of your holiday.

We'll love answering any questions you may have...
And of course we are looking forward to sharing a peek in your baby album......
Tell the breeder of your kittens to teke as many pictures as he/she can, so you will have a kitty album starting from day 1.

I heve pics of my Xena and Gaudi since they were found and rescued, Xena was 6 weeks, and Gaudi 4, and it is really lovely to have photos of the time before they lived with me....

Definately best plan is what your going to do, if you dont want pedigrees, remember theres loads of kittens still in rescues looking for forever homes.

Re: Getting a new cat but going away for a month

i agree wait and get them...... think of kitties as two babies/toddlers they will be scared without their parents there and the mess they would gte up to..i know you could get somebody to sit with them for a couple of hours but all through the night theyyl be alone

have a great trip though!! and perhaps you could pick them and ask the seller to take a couple of piccies for you so when you get back you can have pictures of tehir growth xxx

no,
i suggest waiting till after your holiday,
it is nicer to the cats and you get to spend alot more time with them.
