How do your cats react to other cat sounds?

How do your cats react when they hear the sound of another cat chirruping or meowing? Such as on a YouTube video or, in my case, the Kitty app for the iPhone? I was a bit dubious when someone suggested I download the app, as I was worried that it would upset the cats. But my two seem to really like it. They talk back to it and try to find out where the noise is coming from, and seem like they're trying to kiss and/or groom my iPhone. I don't use it often as I'm worried it will stress them out in some way, or have some other sort of adverse affect on them, but they seem to enjoy listening to it. What are your thoughts?

For those who don't know, it's an app which basically plays various cat noises. I thought it would annoy or stress out Dinah and Monty, but they come over to investigate and rub their faces on the phone! It's so bizarre! I wonder what the app cats are saying?!!

Re: How do your cats react to other cat sounds?

Our cats get curious and run for the nearest window when they hear other cats meowing or fighting outside. They get really curious when they see other cats too;l there are a few cats that roam in/out of out garden and they come and peer in the french doors until Oscar and Poppy notice them and then they play games (there is no aggressive behviour or posturing from any of them).

I'm going to download that app later, to see how my kitties react.

Most dont care and just go back to sleep, or if its a certain meow they all go mad and run around looking for the other cat, I try not to let them hear it!

I just downloaded the app! The kitties love it. I think they think it's me making all that noise. I'm being licked to death now

I've downloaded it too. Definitely sparked an interest. One came running down from upstairs and the other came running in from the kitchen. They sniffed the phone, and then started to rub their faces on it lol.
