Kitten keeps pooping on my carpet! HELP!

Hi all!
I bought my gorgeous persian/maincoon kitten wen he was 11 weeks old, from the first day he used his litter tray by the backdoor no problems! he was as good as gold! but the last month he keeps pooping in 3 particular areas in the living room, behind the tv, and in two areas behind the dinning table. Its driving me bloody mad because i dont know why hes doing it! i clean his litter tray regularly and hes wormed regularly. hes recently been to the vets and there's nothing wrong!
Any ideas of why hes doing this or how i can make him stop? Ive caught him twice already trying to do it but ive chased him to his litter box so he knows its naughty. Ive been using the anti soiling spray from pets at home which was particularly expensive when cleaning the areas but its done absolutely nothing!

It may be that he can still smell it, that's the most likely thing I'd think of if he is still going back to the same places. Have you tried using a different cleaner?

Also, have you tried putting more litter boxes down now that he is getting to roam more? Is he still young? He may have forgotten his way back to the tray.

Re: Kitten keeps pooping on my carpet! HELP!

ermm he was 11 weeks when we brought him home, hes now coming up to 5 months. hes very aware of where his litter tray is bcuz wen i run up to him shouting "no" when he's digging and getting ready to squat on the carpet he runs straight to his litter tray! so he knows its wrong.
Nothing has changed within the house, I cant be home 24/7 to be chasing him back and foward, his litter tray is only in the nxt room so its frustrating he doesnt do it upstairs or anything so i dont want to put a tray upstairs. my older cat goes outside.
Can you recommend any other cleaner i can use to try and get rid of his scent?

It sounds like he's going back because of the smell. You could try urine off? I know it's for urine but it may eliminate the smell of poo too.

Re: Kitten keeps pooping on my carpet! HELP!

If he is coming up to 5 mths he may be coming into sexual maturity and is starting to 'place his scent'. Especially as you mention that you have another cat.

Has your vet discussed neutering with you and the possibility of getting it done before 6 mths? If he has enough body weight, this shouldn't be a problem.

This is only a suggestion to be considered.

I'm not too sure but he's falling into the age bracket when 'things' start to happen so maybe...........

But, I have just had another thought (gosh, all this thinking is exhausting!!!) OP - is your litter tray open or closed?

If it's an open tray, he might feel too exposed when doing his poops and likes the privacy of being behind the tv and the dining table. Changing to a closed tray might help.
