babygirls is on a distinguished road
Show me your cat run :)

Morning all, Dotty is going to be a devil to keep in I can see her little face as she sits at the window watching the world go by

I am going to have to start building the cat run sooner than anticipated I was hoping to get winter out of the way first but hey ho!!

We are losing our patio space so have a concrete base, a window that they can have access to 24/7 and a space of about 8ft by 9ft.

Hubby can put a bit of wallpaper up and fix the old leaky tap, and allthough he wants to build it himself I fear the neighbours would

The last time he embarked on a wooden DIY project was 10 years ago when he made our fireplace...... (at our old house!!) it had the longest legs you ever did see and would of looked good in a statley home (size of it) but it cost a fortune!!! more nails more glue more wood you get the idea!!

So I beg of you, could you show me a picture of yours and if it is not to cheeky a price you paid overall so I can get a rough idea of what I should be paying and designs please

There are some beauts on ebay, but we need 7.5ft high to clear the window and most are only 6ft

Thank you all in my quest to get the babies safe and outdoors

Re: Show me your cat run :)

i cant show you a pic,
but ours is around the side, with a catflap in the wall and chickenwire for the roof.
there are gates on either side, and on half of it there is a plastic roof, because his litter tray is out there.....................................
to keep the roof up we put wood going from the fence to the house and chicken wire on top.
(we also made them coz the fence is falling down!)
hope this helps............. i will give you more details soon!

Re: Show me your cat run :)

For that height it will have to be a custom build.

Here are mine

large cat pen.jpg
cat pen block.jpg
bottom pen.jpg

There have been some improvements since, the large pen now has a proper house inside it as well as the small one in the picture, also it has a safety door, and another of the pens in the block of three has a safety door. On that note, having a pen without a safety door is a false economy unless your cat is easily retrievable - no safety door makes the pens all but unuseable for me, as does having any pen you cannot stand up in.

Re: Show me your cat run :)

These are brilliant and I'm seriously looking at this option for next summer. Are yours custom built by yourselves (I know OscarsMam's is) or made by a company for you? Anyone got links to companies that do this sort of thing? I'd like to incorporate my 10ft shed into mine if poss.

Re: Show me your cat run :)

this is the company that made ours.

Bransby Bunny

it wasn't cheap but we had real problems trying to get any body interested in making one for us. My OH being not very good with such things didn't want to make it himself
