Unhappy A little girl in need of help :(

It seems we have been adopted by a little kitty

She has been coming through our garden for a couple of weeks. When we first saw her she looked well fed and confident, so we assumed it was a neighbours cat. She looks far too young to be out though!

I think she is about 8-10 months old ... and for the last two days she's stayed in our garden 24 hours, sleeping at night on top of our compost heap ... presumably because it will be quite warm.

Well today we decided we couldn't leave the little love any longer, on closer inspection she looked very thin and was beginning to whine a lot.

Chris went out to her and she ran over to him and started winding around and around his legs meowing at him and purring constantly She is indeed very thin, a quite wormy looking.

So we fed her and oh my gosh! I have never seen a cat eat with such determination The whole time she was calling out while eating. We slipped a worming tablet in her food which she gobbled down no problem thankfully.
She has been very affectionate towards Chris every time he has gone out to her today.

I rang around the local vets ... Only one report of a missing black cat. The description sounded right and the lady came around to have a look. Unfortunatly she is not her long lost cat, I felt so bad for her

We've tried all the neighbours around us and no one knows her The rescues around us have no room she isn't microchipped ... our vet has been lovely though and said to bring her back on Monday and he'll give her a thorough check over if no one has come forward for her in the mean time

Well, tonight I will be registering with as many lost pet sites as possible to see if we can find where this little lady has come from. In the mean time Tabitha () has just been taken into one of our stables for the evening. We've given her a box bed with lots of snuggly pillows in it and a towel over the top to keep out draughts. She also has food, water and a litter tray. We've done this because the road next to us is very busy and I just can't bare the thought of what could happen if we don't keep her safe at night at least.

I feel so bad for her as she is sooo loving I would bring her in in an instant but I have to think of my girls. I will see if the vet will snap test her on Monday and de flea (felt a few squirmy bumps). If we haven't found her owners by then we will think about bringing her in. Tinks is fascinated by her and the whole time she was eating Tinks was rubbing up against the window and purring ... She seemed desperate to get to her At one point Tinks had her paws on the window and Tabitha () did the same on the other side and they just looked at each other and meowed ...

Oh heck I hope we can find this girls home!

If you happen to live in the Boston and surrounding area and recognise this little girl from the pictures and video's below please PM me, or post on this thread.

She's completely beautiful. Good on you for feeding her and what a nice vet to be checking her over. Hope someone comes forward for her but in the meantime she's lucky she has you. She must have known who's garden to pick

Re: A little girl in need of help :(

what a beautiful girl, i hope you find her owner very soon.

I too had a gorgeous black cat camp out in my garden last year, it broke my heart to go to bed knowing she was sleeping in a box full of warm jumpers every night and not curled up on someones warm bed or lap. Got her into a fab rescue centre just before it snowed, after 7 days she found a lovely couple to adopter her...im so glad she picked to me to help her, just as im sure your cat picked you

I hope it's a happy ending for this little one. I couldn't sleep last night for worrying about her I kept checking out of the window to see if she was still on the compost heap.

I shall do what ever I can to find her owners, but I have a feeling she's been abandoned How anyone could I don't know because she really is lovely.

When she goes back to the vet on Monday I will see if they would be kind enough to spay her too, as I doubt very much she has been.

I had a long and lovely conversation with the lady who runs my local CP today, she was telling me how desperate it is at the moment and she was very sorry she couldn't help as they had no room at all. She was busy looking after a kitten that had come in with a litter and was pregnant again Thankfully she was spayed as she was in such a state she didn't think she would have survived a second litter I'm going to put some bits together for their fundraiser in December I think ... every little bit helps.
