Where did that come from?

I fed Mai Tai this morning and left her in the conservatory while I took husband's breakfast upstairs (I know.... let's not go there!!) when I came down she had a mouse. There's an old game larder next to the conservatory but I've checked that and there are no signs of mice and no sign of where one could have got in. I know they can squeeze through very small spaces but I can't work out where this one came from!!
It was quite a large mouse and freshly killed! My husband sits in the conservatory in the evenings so he'll be on mouse watch tonight!

Re: Where did that come from?

oh no how awful.

we were sat in the living room one night and i saw something move behind the tele. All the cats were sat round the tele looking at something so i assumed it was a spider. After about 10 mins i thought i would get up and see what it was.......it was a little baby mouse. I think one of the cats had brought it in and it was still alive. I screamed the house down - my oh came running and removed it safely before it met a grisley end from the cats.

I've got some chicken drumsticks in the freezer ready for her - I guess I could try her with one! I still don't know where she found the mouse though!

Just be thankful it wasn't a live frog! One of my cats brought one in once and believe me it's no joke trying to catch a jumping frog with a pan and brush.

Re: Where did that come from?

I often get a daily mouse It's so sad to see their little broken bodies.

The one yesterday was awful. They had eaten around the middle of it and just left the spine and the head and tail - it looked like a kebab partly eaten. I was nearly sick - I don't eat meat anyway but if I did I think it would have put me off for a very long time.

I guess I am trying to get my younger fur babies to eat raw - will have to sit them down and explain to them yet again that I don't mean DIY. I hope they never get hold of Snoozy Fudge (hamster!)

Re: Where did that come from?

years ago a cat of mine tried to bring a toad in, i didnt think much of it, but then she wouldnt eat her food and i noticed her mouth was very sore and like blisters, i took her to the vet ,who said her mouth was sore due to the toad, i didnt know that toads had something on them that affected the cat, and made her mouth so sore and blistered,
