Help with our cat needed

Okay, so I have asked this before but it is really bothering me now.

We have a neutered female cat who will be 5 next year. Ever since we have had her she has had this problem where she has a really filthy bottom, as though she can't clean it properly. Our cats have a garden which they use as their toilet, so we don't have a litter tray. She comes in a 'scraps' is the best word to use on our floor, carpet and even the kitchen table (she is not meant to go on there) and it is getting disgusting. We have taken her to the vet, she doesn't need her glands squeezed, she doesn't have worms, we added bran to her diet, it didn't help. We don't know what to do. My mum say's it is stopping her from loving her, and it certainly stops us from wanting to hold her etc.

We are going to take her to the vet one last time, as we are short of money but we don't know what to do

Is she a long-haired cat?
The only real option is to wash her bottom, if she cannot keep herself clean.
If she is dirty because she has diarrhea, you might want to try a different kind of food (I would suggest trying RC sensible or Hills sensitive stomach)

She has short fur. She is fed on James Well Beloved and the occassional pouch

If she is dirty because her poo is too thin, she might do better on special food for sensitive stomach and/or intestines, like the ones I mentioned......

Is she getting a dirty bottom because she has loose stools ,if so then she may benefit from a diet change.

Thanks for your replies. We will look into the sensitive stomach food. Her poop (as far as we know) is not particularly runny

Re: Help with our cat needed

How long would recommend we put her on the new food for before taking her to vet (if we don't see a difference)

My mum is really upset as we can smell her and it is horrible

Re: Help with our cat needed

Oh and this could be completely unrelated, but just to add it in, we also own her sister and two other cats. But Tabitha has a few things, she is constantly getting her claws stuck in material and clothes and doesn't seem to be very good at retracting them, she also has a slightly wheezy chest, I am pretty sure we took her to the vet for his and he said is was nothing. She also had eczema when she was a baby.

Re: Help with our cat needed

We bought some Hills Sensitive and she has been on it for two weeks. Sadly no change yet. I don't know what to do
