Re: Help with our cat needed

Perhaps a different vet would be in order.

We have a neutered female cat who will be 5 next year. Ever since we have had her she has had this problem where she has a really filthy bottom, as though she can't clean it properly. Our cats have a garden which they use as their toilet, so we don't have a litter tray. She comes in a 'scraps' is the best word to use on our floor, carpet and even the kitchen table (she is not meant to go on there) and it is getting disgusting. We have taken her to the vet, she doesn't need her glands squeezed, she doesn't have worms, we added bran to her diet, it didn't help. We don't know what to do. My mum say's it is stopping her from loving her, and it certainly stops us from wanting to hold her etc.

We are going to take her to the vet one last time, as we are short of money but we don't know what to do

I have a long fur cat he hardly have soft poos but even with hard poos a little bit always manages to stuck to his tail or fur around his bottom. I just wash him myself straight away as soon as I see any poos stuck and yes Samson does smells we've nicked name him 'pepe-le-phew' as soon as he comes in the room we know he is there without looking a smell tend to just waft in the air it's pretty distinctive we just laugh it off and I just accept that that's the way it is he needs help with his little bottom. .

All you need is to wash your cat's little bottom and put some baby powders when her bottom is dry your kitty should smells nice. Smell or not I love my Samson to bits he is my joy you can't stop loving an animal because of smelly bottoms it's all part of the parcel of having an animal.

just hang in there and help your kitty by washing her little bottom you'll find she'll stop doing the scrapping your kitty is trying to keep herself clean but she cannot use soap and water to do it if you are able to buy a cat's litter tray and see if that helps perhaps by doing her poos in the garden it's making her little bottom itchy also if you are short of money the RSPCA is the best place you can pay what you are able bit by bit they can even advice you what to do. If I am not happy with my vet I always go to the RSPCA they are very good.

hope this helps and that kitty's problems are solved.

Oh we will definitely wash her, she just hates it and can get very aggressive. I certainly feel sorry for all the vets she has seen! We will continue to feed her on the sensitive food for a while as she seems to love it and as soon as we get some money in we will take her to the vet Thanks everyone

awww that's good. Private Vet can be expensive what about the RSPCA is there one near you? glad kitty loves her food. My kitten always runs away from me as soon as he'd done a poo he knows that I would wash him, he used to growl badly and try to get away but I spoke gently and sing to him now he lets me wash his bottom without any problems.

hope all goes well take care.
