Marley

As a few of you may remember I took Marley on a few months ago after someone had ill treated him.

After numerous vet bills antibiotics & steroids etc, the vet said his eye & nose had suffered permanent damage.

He needs his face cleaned a number of times during the day, as his eye runs & so does his nose, & he sneezes a lot to clear his nose.

I realised quite early on he had limited vision in one eye as he can't judge distances etc, & often doesn't see things from the left hand side, until theyre right in front of him.

Didn't realise how bad his nose was until today! my friend who's a nail tech was doing my nails as a treat, Tilly could smell the acetone from quite a few feet way & wouldnt come near as it made her eyes water.

Marley walked right up to it & sniffed the top of the open bottle he couldn't smell a thing!

I had hoped all the meds etc we'd tried had saved some of his sense of smell, but obviously they haven't.

Also makes sense as to why when he was younger we had problems getting him interested in food, he couldn't smell it so wasnt that bothered till some was put in his mouth, so he could taste it.

He also has a habit of standing tasting food or milk for a long time he seems to suck & run his tongue over the roof of his mouth after he's tasted something he really likes & does it over & over again before tucking in

Re: Marley

Oh bless him. That is so sad that he was ill treated
It is really good that you have taken him on though. Poor lil guy. At least he has someone who cares for him now well done.
