Re: cat weight
There isn't really a set weight as it depends on breed, sex, whether cat is neutered etc.
As long as the kitten has been gaining weight steadily, has bright eyes, shiny fur and is eating, drinking and toileting well, that is the main thing. Also you should not be able to see the cats rib cage, but should be able to feel it if you run your hands along the cats body. From above a waist should be visable and from the side you should not have too much of a belly hanging down. Cats should be sleek looking, but again the appearance depends on the breed.
My two boys are Oscar and Wilbur. Both are neutered and almost 8 months old. Oscar eats loads more than Wilbur (or seems to as he is always first to the bowls) but is much lighter than Wilbur who is more muscly. So weight wise there is around a 0.25-0.5kg difference, and Wilbur has always been the heavier of the two. However, when viewed they are both the same size and slenderness.
It's a bit like me really. I don't hold much to the weighing scales, but know I should cut back on chocolate when my jeans feel tight
