In recognition of Cats Protection's Black Cat Awareness Day on 27 October, (which includes black and white cats too) I am putting more photos of my beautiful Tuxedo Furbies who will be 8 months old on Wednesday and have given me almost 6 months of absolute joy and laughter.

(OK, so I am using this campaign as an excuse to show off my boys, but what the hell, I am honest and proud!!! )

Its so sad the black/black and black and whites get overlooked in rescue. my own hubby moaned when I said I wanted ours because the colour was 'boring'. He loves them anyway though one of my friends commented that black cats freak her out. don't get it at all!

My grandad used to hate cats and had never even petted one before untill our black Magik jumped on his knee and demanded he make a fuss of her. Later that afternoon he went to the betting shop and won quite a bit of money. He puts it down to our Magik and insists that she must be a lucky black cat. Now he loves her and shes quite fond of him also.....

There is something very special about our Magik. She followed me home as a little kitten. It was snowing and very late so I had to let her in. We scanned her for a chip and put posters up. We contacted everyone we could think of to find her owner but no one ever claimed hers. Its like she just appeared out of nowhere...

I think black cats are stunning and find it hard to understand how they can be overlooked so much. I guess superstition has a lot to do with it. I also read that black cats are hard to photograph (I know I take a lot that look nothing like Oz!!!)
