It was a bit of a deja vu moment because she was only just thinking about the kittens and how they are settling when I text (enter twilight zone music).

It must be a worry to hand kittens over to strangers. I know that I would want to have a little progress report on how they are settling and if they are happy in their new family.

She also said that she knew the moment I came to view the kittens that I would give them a fab home

I'm even thinking of sending a Christmas Card "from Susie and Leo" lol!

its nice to hear off the people you get your pets of we still keep intouch with the owners off our younger dog and most of our cats

I think that is lovely idea.

My CP will get a Christmas card from Oscar & Wilbur (or Maya Kit#1 & Maya Kit#3 as they knew them).

I sent them loads of photos and a long letter to say all the things they get up to and how well they have settled in. Rescue's must get LOADS of letters telling them about how wonderful the cats are, but when I called in to drop off some toys for the cats in the centre, they remembered everything I had written and said they really appreciate knowing how well cats have settled as they feel 'job well done' for the team

I wish more people were like you lot!! I very rarely hear how the kittens I have hand reared are getting on even though the families say they will keep in touch its rather sad wondering how they are getting on. The only thing I know is as of April time (when the RSPCA were doing a ring round to check up on all animals rehomed in the past year) none of the kittens I had fostered had died!!

I really miss some of the kittens and would love to see photos or even just have a quick text sent to me

Oh that is really bad - that would make me feel sad.

I did wonder whether CP would be interested to know how the kittens were doing i.e. was I being a bore telling everyone how wonderful the Furbies were, but they said they love all the stories and to see how the kittens/cats now look. They said it made them feel part of the process of helping cats, not just there for the bad stuff. Also, it was nice for them to hear how the cats are away from being stuck in a pen, as that is when their true personalities come out.

I just sent another email to my breeder today with an update and some photos. I intend to send her an update very couple of months from now on and she will definitely get a christmas card from us.

i have a kitten named leo too!
