Re: Rescue Centre has really upset me...AGAIN!

OP your experience sounds familiar. I hit the same attitude at my local cat shelter where one woman was amazingly obstructive and seemed desperate to turn us down and throw up obstacles. The other volunteers seemed a little embarrassed as they could see we were becoming irate.

In a way I can understand it: I'm sure they have to deal with a lot of people who are utterly clueless about keeping a cat, so they feel they have to spell it out to everyone. But surely they could just listen to me when I tell them I was a volunteer at the shelter when I was a student, my first 3 cats were adopted from there, and I've always had at least 2 cats and cats when I was growing up? I'm not an expert but that's quite a lot of cat-owning experience, so yes, I DO know I have to brush them and I DO know they need flea treatment and I DO know what to feed them!!

The other thing is, in every walk of life you come across some insecure person on a power trip who likes to makes things miserable for everyone else.
raggie doll likes this.

Lumboo, have a think about Wood Green Animal Shelter as well (the North London Branch, which is in Wood Green). That's where we got Pheebs and we found them very nice.
