Re: Heart Attack!

I once searched all over for Oscar for hours! I thought he must have got out at night (which i didnt allow) and he hadnt come home I searched all morning around gardens in the area and neighbours garages, eventually giving up when i had to go take an old lady friend of mine shopping! As soon as id done i resumed my search, resigning with the fact he had been stolen I tried one last ditch attempt at calling him as i was walking in the house.... only to be greeted by Oscar having come down from upstairs I still have no idea where he had been but the relief i felt was enormous!!! Ofcourse i had to wipe my tears away with something, so i chose Oscar to snuggle my face into

Re: Heart Attack!

I think most of us have had that Heart Attack moment.

I did when I first got my kittens. When we first got them we kept them in the conservatory with cat litter, toys, feeding bowls, bed etc and only let them in the living room if someone was arround to supervise. Well, it was a nice sunny day so I thought I'd make the most of it and hang some washing out. I always made sure I shut the conservatory door behind me but this time a little while later after being inside for a while I noticed it was open just a little crack and the kittens were no where to be seen .

I suddenly had that cold sweat feeling that they had escaped outside I called and called, searched all round the living room, kitchen and conservatory in all the obvously places, then found them curled up together, huddled under a corner of a throw that we have over the leather sofa. The relief was overwhelming

I also do a quick head count when I do laundry (just in case).

Re: Heart Attack!

Yep been there

There is absolutely no way Molly can get out of the flat, but I got home from work early one day and she wasn't there to greet me!! She ALWAYS does this. Well I was like a woman possessed, calling her name, looking everywhere, heart was beating like mad!!! Why I wasn't logical in thinking she has to be here somewhere is beyond me

She finally sauntered out from under my daughters bed wondering what all the fuss was about! I actually found myself telling her off

Re: Heart Attack!

Yes, my cat’s kittens gave me a heart attack a few months back. They had a room upstairs with mummy cat away from my dogs (Cat was a stray who had kittens in my shed). Went to get them some food and came back upstairs and they had vanished. I thought oh no I’ve left the back down open and they may have gotten out. I searched for about 15 minutes all over the house, yard and shed for them panicking and worrying, couldn’t find them anywhere. Then mummy cat comes home and starts mewing, which then brought the kittens out of their hiding place. They were hiding behind the washing machine that is surrounded by a cupboard. I was so glad to find them.

Re: Heart Attack!

My mum's kitten did it too. She was only 4 weeks old when my mum adopted her (she was found abandoned with her siblings) and managed to crawl into a roof alcove in one of the top bedrooms (kind of hard to explain) and my step-dad found her and thought she was dead Cue the shrieking from mum which caused the kitten to jump and she then she came out of the hiding place.

Re: Heart Attack!

The day we picked up Odin (we'd had Oslo just 2 weeks at this point), I'd gone to the bathroom, and while I was in there hubby went to the shop - I came out and while I could find Oslo, Odin was nowhere to be found - I did a frantic search, without luck - hubby came home & after another quick look around I made him go outside and start searching around - all I could think was "We've only had him a few hours and I've already lost him". After more searching, and just before I was about to head outside to do another search (since by this stage I didn't trust hubby when he said he hadn't let the cat out - as that was the only logical explanation) - Odin wanders out from behind some stuff we have stacked in the spare room....giving me a look as if to say "What are you doing you are disturbing me".
