Hello with a random question!

Hi, I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd get away with sneaking in a couple of pics of my beautiful boy, Scampi
He's 4 years old, we've had him since he was about 9 weeks and he is my baby through and through! (much to my OHs great disappointment, he gets very jealous that Scampi will only sit on my knee and clearly loves me most! haha)
Now to my question, has anyone experienced their cat suddenly being afraid of a part of the house? Scamps loves the hall usually but in the last few days he's been petrified of walking through it, when he absolutely has to (which sadly for him is frequently as it leads to every room in the house) he runs full pelt through sticking closely to one wall and is highly disliking leaving a room by himself. It's really really weird! We can't find anything that has obviously spooked him, I'm starting to wonder if he's seen ghost!
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts!

Here are some pics of my gorgeous boy anyway

Re: Hello with a random question!

I forgot to answer your question Has another cat got in without you knowing maybe through the cat flap (if you have one) and that's probably what he can smell. Other than that I have no idea but it seems pretty spooky!

Oh what a gorgeous, smunchy boy!!!!! No wonder you adore him.

Welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing more pics of your baby.

I'm afraid I can't help on his sudden dislike of the hallway - did someone maybe accidentally step on him or trip over him recently that may have shook him up a bit? That's all I can think off.......

Re: Hello with a random question!

Thanks peeps, I of course think so too he really is such a sweetie.

I know it's really obscure, I thought this would be a good place to share just incases anyone had any other ideas, we're totally stumped by it!
Neither of us has done anything we can think of that would have spooked him or had anyone else in the house the last few days. We do have a cat flap, but nothing has come in that I'm aware of, if it was anything I'd be worried about the foxes rather than cats but luckily they're not that brave! Thank goodness!
I think I might go on a walk around the house with him and see what we can discover, or worst case pull out some bribery tactics and see where he really won't go and if there are any clues!
MoggyBaby likes this.

An excellent idea!!!!

In the meantime, if you could pop up a few more cute piccies of him, we might be able to 'tune into his mind' and see if we can get some more info on the problem......

Re: Hello with a random question!

Hi and welcome

All of my cats frequently stare intently at ...well, nothing and I know it's a commonly mentioned phenomenon with animals (my dogs - and even my son when he was a baby - used to do this also).

It's probably something totally mundane but animals have senses we can only dream about!
