maine coon adult teeth
one of my maine coon just had his 1st birthday. My aunt who was an ex vet nurse said that not all his adult teeth had came through. Does anyone know when maine coons get their adult teeth? i always throught that they came by 6 months like most cats or as maine coons are slow growing cats does that mean their teeth are too? should i take him to the vet now or can it wait for the annual check up time ( in 6 weeks time). he is active and healthy and no problem with eating or drinking.

Re: maine coon adult teeth
I believe the teeth are at the same age as other breeds actually. Benji is 7 months and his last adult tooth has just pushed his last baby tooth out so he now has a full set of adult fangs! As he has stomatitis I did ask the vet about MC's and the age of getting adult teeth and she said it was the same as other kitties, even though they otherwise physically mature slower than other breeds.

Re: maine coon adult teeth
I would just get him checked when he goes for his booster
Tango is nearly 1 & he is currently trying to produce one of his last adult teeth there is no sign of it being impacted so hopeing it will be through soon & he will stop chewing everything again ![]() |
