Where does your cat like to hide?

I was just curious as to where your cats most like to hide? My cat Widget used to hide in boxes, carrier bags (we'd take her straight out of there obviously), kitchen cupboards and under the duvet.

She went missing on 21st September and I guess I'm just looking for a bit more insight! Since going missing, I have been searching fields and road sides, bins, hedges, put out posters and made all the necessary calls. I have already posted in the Lost and Found Cats section of this forum and tried everything suggested. I'm heartbroken but curious.....

Thanks.

Sarah.

Re: Where does your cat like to hide?

Spencer hides under the table, in the curtains (in front of them, I think he thinks he can't be seen haha), under the clothes airer and has started getting on top of the fridge recently. Skye on the otherhand will hide anywhere - behind any curtains, on the chairs under the table, behind a mirror I have leaning against the wall in my bedroom, in the shower!! She likes to hide in amongst everything in my wardrobe too. She can also turn a basket for washing on it's side and hide from Spencer, either inside it or behind it

I really hope you manage to find your cat soon.

Re: Where does your cat like to hide?

Nunu: generally too lazy to hide
Girly: in her :cave" that I made her, behind the washing machine, under her quilt, or in my husband's suit cupboard
Flea: on the dining room chair or behind the curtains

Re: Where does your cat like to hide?

Mine don't tend to hide as they are too big.

Sorry to hear about your cat. Our local radio station has a lost and found feature everyday. Might be worth contacting yours to see if they do the same. Hope you find her soon.

Re: Where does your cat like to hide?

The other thing is have you asked neighbours to check sheds and garages? We had a cat go missing once and put notes through all the neighbours doors including neighbouring streets asking them to check sheds and garages and she appeared soon after. Must have gone a noseying and got shut in.

Re: Where does your cat like to hide?

Thanks for replying.

I have posted leaflets through doors, about 40 houses to the front of us and 10 behind. As I work full-time and don't really get the chance to look as much as I'd like to, I have posted leaflets to houses in other parts of the estate. Sounds so lazy of me, but I live on a Persimmon housing estate.....2,000 other houses in a circular radius = nightmare!

I am hoping that somebody has just taken her in thinking she was a stray, breaks my heart to think the worst - hence asking for hiding places, gives me an idea of where else to look!

Thanks again.

Sarah.

When it all seemed too quiet the other day I went to the lounge/dining room to check on the cats - Odin was sitting on one of the dining room chairs - took a few moments to find Oslo....
