Mr McGee is in the Building.......

Our new baby boy has arrived!!!!!!

Arrived at the rescue yesterday lunchtime and hooked up again with the truly wonderful Patsy - a lovely, lovely woman who's dedication to her cats is unlimited - who wasted no time in taking me out to Salems (as he still was at that time) pen to meet him. She proceeded to pick up this HUGE big bundle of black fluff and bunged him into my arms. I fully expected him to wriggle and squirm but, instead, he just snuggled down and stayed there contentedly all the way back to the house. After much discussion, we all agreed that he was a big sloppy softy who just gave lots of cuddles and loves and so could really only be called McGee!!!! This has now become Mr McGee as that just works a bit better. Although it will be McGee for short.

I won't bore you will ALL the details but he got home ok (not a peep the whole way - 165 miles!!!) but had a wee accident (poopy) just as we turned into our street. I think he was quite embarrassed by this as he disappeared into his litter tray and curled up there when we got him to his room - the spare bedroom. We did manage to get him out so he went awol under the bed instead! However, we took it in turns to sit in the bedroom with him and it was not too long at all before he was out and about and giving us HUGE loving cuddles. He would run to the door to meet us when we came into him. The result of this is that the OH is TOTALLY besotted with him and is delighted that we got him even though he managed to keep the OH awake last night (according to the OH......).

Today, however, he's had free roam of the house for most of the day and he's getting slowly settled. He and Abby have met and the hissing has been in evidence, on both sides, but not excessive. They have spent most of the day in the same rooms but at a distance. As I type, they are approx 3ft apart - her on the windowsill & himself sleeping on the table. Excellent progress within 24hrs I think.

He's also met the boys - Oscar barely blinked his eyelid and Merson - as FULLY expected - had a grumpy hiss and a growl. Some things are SOOO predictable!!!!

However, I know you lot ain't interested in prose and just want to see the piccies so these are a few from this afternoon. I tried to get more but he just DOESN'T sit still. He's never had so much space to roam around in so I think he's just getting used to it all......

Pretending to be camera-shy...

Too cool to look at the camera.....

Heeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyy, who's the hot chick........????

I'm too gorgeous for this sofa........

He's beautiful and shiny - and very happy to be home I should think

Looks settled in already, I'm sure they'll all be getting on well in no time at all (I've forgotten what hissing sounds like already less than a week after getting Kitty )

Congrats
