Hi, My poor little sweep has either had a fight with another cat and injured his eye or while play fighting with my other cat ... ive got an appointment at the vet in the morning but im feeling awful as he has to go throu today with his sore eye .. i dnt know what has happened im guessing maybe a cats nail has caught his inner eye :-( it seems to be shut most of the time or near enough shut with redness inside ... i dnt have pet insurance so im expecting it to be pricey too which im concerned about as i doubt i will be able to afford a pricey vet bill .. but my main concern is that my poor little boy may lose his eye :-( ... wish tomorrow would hurry as im feeling awful knowing that it may be hurting him ....

anyone else's cat had anything like this happen to there eye?

Sorry to hear Sweep has hurt his eye. Personally if it were my cat I would take him to the vet today. Problems with the eye can be very serious. By leaving it you may be making it worse and making it more costly for you as well. Let us know how he gets on!

oh no - did it happen today? if its red/bleeding i'd take him today too....

the only vet that is open today is £100 and thats before they look at him .. i crnt afford that i dont even have £10 ... its making me feel awful if i had the money id be there in a shot! just want to cry .. love my cat dnt want him in pain :-( x

I would have gone to the vet today. You could always ask the vet if you could pay them in installments, anything is worth a try.

I hope Sweep's eye injury is not serious and gets better soon.

Well I'd imagine its going to be more than £10 anyway to get him seen and the longer you leave it the more pain he's going to be in and the worse it can get. worse = more expensive.

I'd cut losses and go today. Eyes are not something I'd want to hope for the best on.

Please please go to the vets today, my Scamp was taken quickly but to no avail, he lost his eye and this was through a fight, he had a scratch across his eye and he was closing it, he took to the bed and wouldn't eat, I knew something was wrong by his behaviour. Leaving it may make matters worse, losing the eye is worst case scenario, it may not be that bad, but your baby is in pain, as someone else suggested ask if you can pay in instalments, my sister does this with her regular vet. I hope Sweep is ok and I am sorry if I am making you feel bad, it's just with eyes I wouldn't take a chance

Fingers crossed for sweeps eye injury. You should have taken him in sooner. Hope he is OK.
