Question Advice Please

Hi,

My 4 month old siamese kitten was sick one day early last week. I took him to the vets, and the vet thought he'd just probably ate something that didn't agree with him.

He seemed to pick up although not eating lots. I took him back to the vets at the weekend for his worming tablet and since Saturday evening he seems to be really lethargic. He's been sleeping almost constantly and when he is awake, he just sits on his bed or lies on one of us. He's not running around or using his scratching post, he literally has no energy. And he's started moulting.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,

Bobbee.

Re: Advice Please

Do you think maybe him sleeping lots has coincided with the good weather we have had??? Oscar has been very lathargic while its been so hot!!! Hope its nothing serious! Maybe take him back to the vet if youre worried?? x

if you're worried then take him back, kittens can come down very quickly when they are young

Re: Advice Please

It may just be the weather as Jaffe has also been a lot more lethargic the last couple of days. However, If you are worried go back to the vets. It's always better to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to these things. I hope he bounces back though!

Thanks for the messages. Yes, it could be the heat taking it out of him. My husband thought that too. Should he be shedding fur now?

Re: Advice Please

Cats tend to shed fur sporadically so that in itself wouldn't really be a concern. The lethargy would be far more concerning to me and I'd at very least be calling the vets to update them and ask their advice. Does he have any signs of a fever, hot ears and paws, warm dry nose etc? If so I'd definitely be taking him back to the vets ASAP.

Re: Advice Please

Hi

Thanks for the info and advice. He doesn't feel hot with a fever. I'll see how he is in the morning then take it from there.
