Hi, my name is Kas and since moving to Spain 5 years ago, I have managed to acquire 4 cats, 3 of which chose me.

I love my cats but for some reason the residents in my local urbanization seem to think differently.

Some seem to think that I should keep my cats indoors, which I think is absolutely against their nature, what do you think?

Ah, the great indoor/outdoor debate!

Personally, for me, outdoor is what I feel is best for my pet cats. I know I am making the right decision every time I see them enjoying themselves in the garden, the woods or the field they roam in. My cats all show clear enjoyment from being outside, and I could never deprive them of that freedom now that they have experienced it.

I feel the exercise and mental stimulation they get from being outside could never be fully experienced indoors. I know from keeping my cats indoors when they were new to me that they went a little crazy when they were stuck indoors all day!

The risk of being hit by a car is my biggest worry, but that is why I live in a quiet area and would never move somewhere like a main road that would jeopardise my cats safety more. My parents are looking for a new home at the moment, some of the agents think they are crazy when they turn down a house for being near a main or busy road and thus not cat friendly!

I live in Spain too and normally people dont take well to cats roaming or feeding ferals. They usually complain a lot and threaten to sue.
