Clever (and ever so slightly annoying!) cats or a haunted house?

I'm being OTT, I know it was the cats really.. But it's never happened before. I was awoken last night by an extremely loud TV, which turned out to be ours. I was semi conscious so as always in that state, it confused the hell out of me lol. Could see the flickering lights through our bedroom door which was the only giveaway it was ours so I stumbled downstairs half expecting to find someone sat watching TV in our lounge

Not just the TV though, they'd managed to turn the DVD player on and were 5 minutes into a film..

It's not happened for a while now, but I'd like £1 for every time my lot have managed to turn the tv on after I've gone to bed. I just wish they'd learn to switch it off if they don't like what's on

Ian

I have learnt--most of the time!---to put all the remotes in a place and position so that they cannot be activated by galloping cats at 3am.

It's probably your cats stepped on the remote. I had my tv remote on bed once and my kitten stepped on it before I know it I was woken up by a very loud tv voice I found him sitting on the remote control. Cats tend to like electronic things my kitten just love my pc keyboard he would jump right on it and couple of times messed up my pc in the process now I put my keyboard somewhere safe perhaps put the remote control away where the cats cannot jump or step on them that might solve your problems.

Indy at one point got so bad about being fascinated by the tv we had to turn it off at the wall - he would press the button to turn it on not jus the remote

He still turns my PC on, I just hope he hasn't learnt my zooplus password!

The new xboxes are touch sensitive on the buttons so I frequently wake up to the whirr of it being on. Luckily both Storm and Benji are more obsessed with natural things than with electronics, they LOVE the sink!

Re: Clever (and ever so slightly annoying!) cats or a haunted house?

Oh my word that would have freaked the hell out of me.

I would have expected a girl with long wet hair to be climbing out of the TV set.....

Thankfully our TV is 16 years old, never left on standby and so the cats would have to actually press the 'ON' button.

I do think it is weird enough in this weather when the cats spot a moth or midge that you haven't and then start jumping up at things you can't see. Cats and fish are more amusing to watch than television....

Re: Clever (and ever so slightly annoying!) cats or a haunted house?

Our two recorded 2 hours' worth of "This Morning" one day, not long after they came to live with us... and they have found settings on the TV remote that we didn't even know existed.
